Hey Tara,

This is Brian Petsel. Barb Ragland and my mother were close friends for decades and many years ago, she told me how Mike had died. If I recall correctly, he died of an illness, but I don't remember what it was. My mother does not remember either. I notified the website manager of Mike's passing long ago, but he is still not listed on the "In Memory" page. I'm not sure why. As I was writing this message, I received a reply from my sister, Kristie (who marched in The Ragland Raiders as a child). She remembers that Mike had some type of cancer and went in for surgery. During that procedure, the doctors discovered that the cancer was far spread and inoperable, so they closed. I hope this helps. I knew Mike and his sisters when I was growing up, so I felt terrible when he died at such a young age. Take care,

I was very saddened to learn of Mark's passing. I haven't seen him in over 40 years, but I remember that he was a truly nice person. Everyone who knew him liked him. I'm sorry that he is no longer with us.
